Dana, the owners pay for the site AND run the site as well as SwapaDVD and PaperBackSwap (check Contact Us as bottom of page for add'l info) - the 49¢ transaction fee is the funding. The site opened in May, 2006. Check out the Help Center - LOTS of good info....
