Maybe it's time to try this here. It worked well at pbs. There are currently 9 pages of tips there!
Here's mine for scd:
#1. Listen before you mail. Don't send a cd that skips! Since alot of these are old, it pays to check. I just had to cancel one for that reason.
If you have a good tip, add it.

#2- Sandwich the CD (& artwork) between two pieces of boxboard (cereal boxes, soda 12 pack cartons, etc) then wrap with the paper wrappers. If you want to send the CD with its case, use bubble wrap or a bubble envelope. The paper wrapper alone doesn't offer enough protection!

#3-Don't worry if your case is damaged. Even a broken case will protect the cd and artwork. Those are the important items.
