Just saw Neil the other night - a great show with a nice mix of old classics and new tunes from his "new" album Chrome Dreams II. It's apparently a sequel to a never released album that Joni Mitchell convinced him wasn't ready to be released, way back in the 70s. So some of the "new" songs are anything but, in actuality. I was surprised by how much I liked some of them, too - and am listening to the album as I type (freebie came with the concert tickets). High points are the eighteen minute long "Ordinary People", "Spirit Road", and "No Hidden Path". "Dirty Old Man" rocks, too. Neil's as quirky as ever; I gotta respect a songwriter who obviously writes more for himself than for the critics. Thumbs up. |

Read the biography of Neil. Lots of insight, inspiration and surprises. And quirky. You'll like it. |

Good call - read it last year and enjoyed the heck out of it. Quirky, indeed - Neil's not always the nicest of guys, either - but I really respect him a musician and song-writer! |
