"Zwicker aka Cyril Boehler represents a new breed of producers from Switzerland, mixing percussive beats, strong melodies and futuristic soundscapes.
It's an album that explores the sources of the pop and refined minimalism, from the unknown to the more complacent, perfectly sound assembly, excellent work full of delicious sounds that we need in these days.
Original sound, blend of electronic elements delivers us a warm mixture of mutated Disco, House, Pop and Electro. Luxury guests include Jamie Lloyd, Heidi Happy, Olivera Stanimirov, Matt Didemus (Junior Boys), Billy Oden and many more. Combine electro funk and melodic pop into lyrics-imbued house and downtempo, with the exception of Billy Oden's word associations over "Dragon Fly's" trumpeting elephants, everyone manages to avoid the self-indulgence that's easily imagined. Throughout all the handclaps and synth riffs Zwicker maintains an elegant groove that while at times a little overly palatable is surprisingly warm.
Cyril also releases tracks under his moniker "Tweak" and gives concerts with guest musicians, notebook and sampler. Ever since he had an underground clubhit as `Tweak' with `Fathorn' featuring the electronic fusion with an alpine horn on the swiss label Straight Ahead, Cyril`s releases gained respect from a wide international circle of fans and his tracks have been consistently finding themselves charted in the playlists of keyplayers worldwide. Cyril has also lent his programming and mixing skills to remixes for Spektrum, Minus 8, Jamie Lloyd and Stephan Eicher (Grauzone) and worked on productions with Tony Allen (drummer of Fela Kuti), Kawabata, Kalabrese and Seelenluft. As DJ, ZWICKER has been rocking dancefloors with his own brand of beats with an incomparably wide repertoire, spinning at venues like Zukunft, Hive and Dachkantine (Zürich), Watergate (Berlin), Registratur (Munich). He has dj'ed alongside Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, Henrik Schwarz, M.A.N.D.Y. and played festivals like Lethargy and Gurten Festival (Switzerland).
