Synopsis
Album Description Beefheart worshipping Scousers with a penchant for skiffle-ridden pop. 'Who Killed The Zutons?' is quite possibly the best debut album to arrive from Liverpool since the La's proved there was more to the city than Lennon & McCartney. Member CD ReviewsNoel R. (calvarnson) from SHERWOOD, OR Reviewed on 5/29/2009... My personal discovery of The Zutons was on the Sundance Channel program "Live From Abbey Road" (Season 1 episode 3) and I was immediately taken in by their music and talent. While it has a garage band feel, they are a bit more sophisticated and have a broad range in their music. BTW...the sax player is hot. Their CD's are difficult to find in the U.S. (they released an album earlier this year in Australia but it is not yet available here), however you can download their second album, "Tired of Hanging Around" from Amazon.com. 2 of 2 member(s) found this review helpful.
CD ReviewsGreat Catchy Tunes N. Gaultney | USA | 12/16/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "This CD offers a lot of fun easy-listening british pop style music. I bought it based off some other excellent reviews (Ben Folds said he liked it) and it looked like a good chance to take. I don't regret it at all. The Zutons have a great self-deprecating sense of humor, and their music reflects their general light view of life.
The CD offers a great selection of foot-tapping head-nodding cheerful tunes that will make any day a little brighter." |
