CD ReviewsNot trance eKiTeL | Brooklyn, NY USA | 06/13/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "just want to clarify for anyone who might be misled by the other review, this is not "trance"... this is downtempo, with a little bit of a jazzy edge, and more than a little alt.rock/folk pop thrown in, but not too much, hence the guitars...I agree this is excellent, nice price. All these songs are on their import CD, "Simple Things" a solid album, not one bad track, with a few that are truly exceptional. It's so solid that at first you'd think all the tracks sound the same, but there are many differences, some are not so subtle... this is more than just an excellent chill out album, it's really a downtempo classic!" There outta be a law! L. H. Lohnes | Overthere, USA | 02/15/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Yeah, there outta be a law that only Zero 7 and the Propellerheads can re-mix anything. With EP2 Zero 7 maintains their great track record for creating down beat grooves with a huge melodic hook thrown in for good measure. Acoustic guitars have not been recorded so well since the hey day of Johnny Marr. Zero 7 is always interesting and innovative so why can't they get a record deal in the US? Buy this EP, support um, love um dig um. As my wife says "This is great sex music". Who could argue with that?"
