It's Candie, not Candy!

"Sorry, guys. It was always "Candie" Givens, not "Candy" as in all the other reviews of this album. Candie Ramey (Givens) and my wife's photos are side-by-side in all their Golden High School yearbooks. Another of their classmates was Doug Lubahn, the bassist on The Doors early albums and a founding member of the jazz-rock fusion group Clear Light. In fact, Doug has just published a book called "My Days with the Doors and Other Stories"--[...]
Although Candie has been gone for over 20 years, David Givens is still around. He plays guitar and does vocals on Eddie Turner's 2006 CD "The Turner Diaries" that was recorded down in Santa Fe. And Jock Bartley, the Zephyr lead guitarist on this fantastic "Sunset Ride" album, is still here also--Firefall had a reunion concert in Denver earlier this year.
Yea, those late '60s years were great for music around here, especially in Boulder. The Sink, Tulagi's, and the Honeybucket were bars/clubs on The Hill in Boulder that featured great local, regional, and even national bands all through those years. Some of the local Boulder bands, like Zephyr and The Astronauts, had some national success and some national bands, like the James Gang and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, hung around The Hill and jammed whenever they were in town. And, of course, we had all the national bands at Red Rocks--everyone from the Beatles to The Grateful Dead--during those years. So, it was a great time to be young in Colorado!"
Waited 30 years to hear this again

"While helping a friend move to another State, he put on this album and it has stuck in my head for decades. In recent years, I searched and searched for it, then finally found it on Amazon.com... it is everything (and more) I remember it to be. One of the 5 best albums I own."
