Many bright spots and solid chops

"Shampoohorn by Z (bodacious guitarist Dweezil Zappa with younger brother Ahmet on vocals) is a rocking album that also entertains with an offbeat charm. From time to time the listener will spot traces of father Frank's influence - whether the tributes are intentional or just genetic is hard to say, but they're a pleasure to hear. Some of the overt goofiness is a little distracting, but it's all tolerable, and there are plenty of times where the boys and the band make it all the way to Awesome: "Loser," "Doomed to be Together," "In My Mind" and "My Beef Mailbox" are good examples. This one gets taken out for a well-deserved spin pretty regularly."
Silly at times but wide range of music makes it uniche!

"Away from solo albums Dweezil trys project with brother Ahmet! One of my favorite albums all time because no song sounds the same, great musicians playing (not only Dweezil but former members of Franks band),and a hint of Franks lyrics and melodies overflowing or coming out of his boys!Know don't get me wrong other z albums don't even compare and I hate to say aren't worth buying unless you are a collecter! But this album for me came out of nowhere and just blew me away!"
