Terrific Burroughs reading

"Dark but funny - he really seems to be enjoying himself here. The Anderson stuff is embryonic (working toward "United States") and John Giorno is ... well, speed can do terrible things to a person. Anyway, Burroughs is wonderful and really the only reason to get this.
This was originally (1981) a double LP. They each got one side, and the extra side was a TRIPLE GROOVE. It looked normal, but depending where the needle fell you got Anderson, Burroughs, or Giorno for five minutes. Sometimes collectors have more fun."

"Get a copy of this recording! I have a tape of the record that I have preserved on CD-R. I have copied that CD-R a number of times to assure I will not be without this recording. Giorno is great with his delayed effects. Too bad it is out of print. Laurie Anderson is weird as ever. But my favorite part is the William Burroughs recitals. His dark, almost gory stories of death and killing are never overstated and always has a million punchlines. You can feel that he is "on the nod", I can imagine how many breaks he took to go recharge! Get this recording, you will not be disappointed."
