Can't I rate it 0 stars? THIS IS "TOO 90's"!!!

"When they announced they were releasing a Y&R soundtrack, I was thrilled beyond words! All those beautiful, haunting, melodic music cues of the 80's and EARLY 90's, some of them very reminiscent of "Twin Peaks", would finally be mine! Well, not exactly. These are all, as they previous reviewer put it, "generic". I mean they sound like Muzac or the other personality-less music the other soaps use! Could they not get the rights/clearance for the older music? Were they composed by outside sources and therefore wouldn't bring in as much money as these, which were composed by the currect staff? Another reviewer mentioned the cue used for a tender moment with Nikki and Victor, well that's the one I wanted second most of all - it's simply breathtaking! Almost reminds one of the 70's "Romeo and Juliet" music... My favorite piece is what my girlfriend would call the "twinkling" music - they would play it whenever something "mysterious" was going down. And what about the thundering piano "doom" music (often used during Nikki's alcoholism storyline). Y&R, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release the classic music for your 30th Anniversary next year and maybe a box set of classic moments on DVD to go along with it? Suggestions: David Kimble undoes his plastic surgery bandages to find the word "KILLER" written on his forehead; Sheila and Lauren's catfight in the lab; Nikki gets trashed at the Collonade room and starts stripping; Nina and Cricket in goofy disguises infiltrate black market baby broker Rose's inner sanctum; Jack Abbott enters his office and Victor (whom everyone presumed dead in a fiery car crash) turns around in the black leather swivel chair and Jack almost has a heart attack. Any more suggestions?"

"I agree with the first review. I was a fan of Y/R in the late 70's and 80's and found the music so beautiful it has haunted me to this day that I cannot find out or obtain that same music. I would love to know if it is available on any other recording."
Not bad

"I love Y&R, and I didn't think the soundtrack was all that bad. Maybe not the best, but I love soothing instrumental music. I am still in search of that one piano segment that plays when Billy and Mac are together in a romantic moment. If anyone knows where I can find this then please let me know! I need that entire piano segment!"
Thumbs Up for Y&R Soundtrack!

"I was so pleased when I received this Y&R soundtrack CD! It's amazing how you slip it into the stereo and tons of Y&R memories come flooding back!! I've endlessly enjoyed owning this CD, and I think you will, too!"

"I was also disapointed by the new soundtrack to Y&R. I too loved the music from the much earlier years. I have watched the show since the debut in 1973 and by far the music on the show was better then as well. I was so hoping to hear that music also. They had some beautiful cues and themes that are still wonderful that they don't even bother to play anymore and that is such a waste. They should consider marketing a box set for release in 2003 upon their 30th anniversary and a video collection as well would be welcomed from some vetran fans like myself."
