Tremendous guitarists

"For the guitar enthusiast like myself, there's a lot to enjoy on Sevilla. Young & Rollins have the asset of offering two distinct voices on guitar - Young throws in a lot of jazz and bluesy sounds, while Rollins showcases a finger picking flurry of flamenco inspired riffs. I have seen these guys play live and it's a pleasure to watch them seamlessly shift from lead to rhythm roles. Some other duos I've heard lack this diversity of styles - you can never tell who's playing what. With Young & Rollins, the two instrumentalists make for a more interesting mix and you can definitely hear it in the music. Sevilla is a richly textured album with inventive musical ideas around every corner."

"Sevilla is one of my favorite albums of the year. It's truly inspiring. I'm a real fan of Young and Rollins and sent copies as Christmas presents to friends all over the world - and everyone loved it! The tunes have a unique combination of passion and groove that makes them really hard not to like. I would highly recommend that you give this album a try."

"This is a phenomenal album and a great band. Young & Rollins have a very organic sound. No synthesizers or drum machines that I can hear. I first got turned onto their music when I saw a PBS concert they did on television. Just pure, incredible guitar playing and great original compositions. The music on this album has a lot of surprising variations and distinct melodies, plus some great improvisational moments. Highyly recommended for the Latin music lover!"
Amazing Music!

"This CD is packed with incredible guitar playing, beautiful melodies, and distinctive tunes, one right after another. Above all, just like their first CD, Salsa Flamenca, Young & Rollins showcase their mastery as composers. The guitar fireworks are always to be expected in this genre, but original and distinctive compositions are hard to come by. Young & Rollins blend their virtuosity into music of the highest caliber. ''Cactus'', ''Sevilla'', and ''Fiesta'' are highlight up tempo explosions of energy. ''Afternoon Cha Cha'' and ''Stay With Me'' show a Latin jazz side to Young & Rollins that pushes this genre into new realms of sophistication. ''In the Moment'' brings funky bass and drums into the mix. ''Come & Go'' and ''Spanish Sun'' offer an array of gorgeous melodies. For a pure guitar showcase, Young & Rollins perform unaccompanied on the lively duo piece ''Desert Heat'', which ends with a playful, high speed duel between the guitarists. Each guitarist takes the spotlight on the solo pieces ''Melancholy'' (which soulfully weaves in a cello), ''Nightfall'' (which features delicate, shimmering harmonics), and the haunting "Intro for Solo Guitar". Vocals appear on ''Carino Mio'', fading out in the end in a beautiful chorus of voices. All in all, this CD is captivating from beginning to end, an essential CD for any world music lover. Like truly great albums do, Sevilla takes you on a musical journey through different moods and emotions. Bravo, Young & Rollins!"
