"Yoshimatsu is of a generation of Japanese composer who is working in the shadows of the great Tora Takemitsu and for years now Yoshimatsu has generated some of the most exciting and approachable music to come along in quite a while. He experiments with atonality, but it's always layered in large sweepings of romantic phrasing that's always pleasing to the ear. I have all of Yoshimatsu's work on Chandos and I heartily recommend this man's work. He's not nearly so grim as Takemitsu, but he's just as exhilarating."
