"This 1992 version of the Yardbirds are very close to the current lineup I recently saw in Fresno, with Gypie Mayo on lead and John on bass and vocals...very similar...Paul Samwell-Smith reincarnated in John...and looking like Jeff Beck doesnt hurt the image...but back to this cd...I bought it at the show because of the similar line up and I was NOT disappointed...very close to the sound of the new line up save Mayos Clapton/Beck impersonations...well done...well mastered...Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja should be proud of the sound they give us 35 years later...thank you and one last thing if you are a Yardbird fan you should have this "new" cd...Duke"

"A very decent 1992 reunion by two original Yardbirds members, rhythm guitarist Chris Dreja and drummer Jim McCarty. Recognized most of these sixteen tracks. Good sound quality, thank goodness. Cuts I dug the absolute most are "Heavy Weather", the memorable "Train Kept A Rollin'", "Heartful Of Soul", "Ain't Got You", "You're A Better Man Than I" and "For Your Love". Line-up: Chris Dreja-rhythm guitar&vocals, Jim McCarty-drums&vocals, John Idan-guitar&vocals and Rod Demick-bass&harmonica. Set list could've been better, but it'll do for now."

"Before Birdland, the Yardbirds got together for this live jam session. The result was a great evening of good playing of great tunes. Both the old and the new. The quality of the the recording is good though not great-but the material and the muscianship is what makes this a worthwhile purchase. There are limited copies out there so when you get a chance to pick it up you need to right away. These guys wrote some great songs. Oh, there version of "sitting on top of the world" here is fantastic!"
