Synopsis

Product Description
X Marks The Pedwalk burst onto electro-industrial scene in the beginning of the
1990s. Their debut full-length, 1991 s Freaks, immediately established the act
as a major force in the newly emerging industrial dance genre, and over the next
few releases their sound evolved. Slowly the harshness faded away and the act
experimented with blending in more mainstream techno elements, culminating in
1996 s Meshwork, which was met with cries of approval throughout the hard electro
scene. The release of the album Drawback saw a triumphant blend of influences and
musical growth, with styling ranging from mainstream electro to moody synthetic
soundscapes. Then, at the peak of the acts creative output, X Marks The Pedwalk
went dormant. Now, a decade later, the legend returns!

CD Reviews

A well produced and interesting next step for XMTP
elijah quinn | massachusetts, usa | 04/14/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I don't give rave reviews to many projects who come back to us after

such a long hiatus. However, from the first track I was intrigued to

hear what XMTP would do next. Truthfully, i had been wondering for years.

The last studio album Drawback was a departure from what fans typically

expected from XMTP. The album was considered (by many) to be too mainstream.

I enjoy early XMTP especially Meshwork. Drawback had a more strident techno

feel in places. And the early material was more visceral and edgy.

For me, the complexity of these two themes really comes together to form

a very intelligent and genuinely interesting album in Inner Zone Journey.

It's one of those new albums I don't want to overplay.

This isn't an industrial album. It is multi-layered and cerebral. If you

preview one track you must preview another to get a feel for where it will

take you.WEEEll worth it if you are tired of some of the more predictable aspects

of electronica."
