CD Reviews

Scratchology - A mini history of Hip-Hop...
Sgt. Rock | Lake Oswego, OR United States | 04/13/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Scratchology - A mini history of Hip-Hop. You could argue why some tracks were left off - No BDP, G.L.O.B.E., Eric B & Rakim, Mantronix, EPMD etc. Yet we still have a great tribute to some of the pioneers of Hip-Hop. In all its a large dose of turntable beat juggling insanity that takes inspiration from the history of hip hop, mixing together elements of the classics and the underground."
Finally.....ladies and gentleman.....Mixmaster Gee

"I enjoyed this album a great deal. The art of scratching is almost nonexistent in today's hip-hop. I have been looking for tracks by Mixmaster Gee for some time now and was delighted to see that this album included "Like This"! Hopefully we will see another large hit by Mixmaster Gee, "Manipulator", available very soon. The rest of the album is very good as well. All turntable afficionados should definitely enroll in this piece of hip hop history."
