"I met the guitarist at MOCCA 09. Walked past a table and noticed a comic detailing the author's obsession with GG Allin. Struck up a conversation for a little while, and I bought a comic- he gave me a copy of this CD. I just found it the other day and listened to it, and I was completely blown away. I can't stop listening to it, in fact I am listening to it right now. The great thing about this album is that, in 2009, after arguably the worst decade in the history of rock and roll, people are still making authentic New York City-style punk rock! There's no overproduced emo whininess here, no cock rock bombast, no corporate sissification, no "pop-punk". This is straight-up amazing music, 100% unadulterated. You can hear influences like the Dictators, Stooges and Ramones coming though the mix, and though I hesitate to compare anything to GG I think World War IX evokes his more listenable moments from time to time. The singer sounds kind of metal sometimes, but who cares? Great lo-fi production values, hilarious lyrics, and some of the best guitar playing I've heard in the past decade. This album is just what we need in these troubled times. If you like American punk rock, oi, hardcore, or 1970's dirtbag rock and roll, or if you are an open minded metalhead with a taste for noisy songs about drugs, booze, sex, work, and life, you should buy this now. Highly recommended."
