"If you are considering throwing a Hawaiian themed get-together one day soon, be sure to pick up this CD for the turntable. Unfortunately, the disc does a very poor job of telling us who is actually performing on these tracks. Track one, "Pacific Melody", credits Webley Edwards as the producer. Edwards was known as the host of the old radio series "Hawaii Calls". Tracks three and seven, "Song of the Islands" and "Lovely Hula Hands", are performed by Kealoha Kono & His Orchestra. Tracks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9 are credited to no one whatsoever, aside from producers.
I find this rather frustrating, myself. I expect CD inserts to provide at least the most basic of information to listeners, especially information pertaining to who is actually performing! Whoever it is appearing on the other tracks, the music is well executed with that thick island feel. Despite the flaws this disc presents us with, the music is undeniably Hawaiian and undeniably pleasant. Sure to please all fans of the genre."
