The good and the bad

(3 out of 5 stars)
"Well here it is:
I purchased this because it is a consolidated recording of all of Schubert's known chamber works for pianoforte and strings. Here's the good and the bad.
Good: -All the works are really there!!!
-There are different performers playing different pieces.
(You'll see in a minute why this is good.)
-Low cost for what you are getting ~ main reason for at least 3 stars.
Bad: -Performance on select pieces is very weak. Let me elaborate!
-Poor execution on dynamics.
-The slower movements have no depth. Sounds computer generated.
-The piano is inaudible even while carrying the melody ~ main reason for loss of stars.
-The Trout quintet is divided between both CDs.
Overall not a total loss; however, if I could do things over again I would have purchased the Beaux Arts Trio version. It's missing a couple of the pieces but the quality makes up for it.
