Rivals the Asch Recordings box set

"This box set contains everything on the Library of Congress box set except four songs, the entire "Dust Bowl Ballads" recording, the entire "Columbia River Collection," most of the Almanac Singers' "Sod Buster Ballads" album, and 38 of the 105 songs on the Asch Recordings box set.
Considering that the Library of Congress box set sells for $36 alone, I'd say this collection is a steal. It contains almost as much music as the Asch Recordings set - 99 songs as opposed to 105 - and it spans a larger portion of Woody's career. It's true that it doesn't contain any material from his children's recordings, but you won't find many of those songs on the Asch set either.
The packaging is mediocre, as you'd expect from Proper. The booklet contains a lengthy biography of Woody but it's written so badly it's exhausting to read. Still, you can't beat this collection for the money."
Odd Twist

"I found it odd that a 4-disc collection of Woody Guthrie wouldn't have This Land Is Your Land. But even though it's not listed on Amazon, it's on there -- as the 26th song on Disc 4.
