"this ep is incredible. i was afraid to break it out after hearing mixed reviews, and being such a fan of the simplistic and jangly previous releases of wolfie's, when i heard they busted out the guitars and changed up their songs, slowed them down, and made them more complex, i thought that meant that they lost their element of fun. but the songs are just GOOD. and the more i listen to them, the more i love them. mike downey's songs have grown up a million times to turn into complex little gems with harmonies that make your eardrums swoon. the organ is no longer a playful little accent on songs, and everything is recorded well, clearly,...etc. the tempos have been changed up beautifully, and the bass and guitar compliment themselves more than ever. i don't think wolfie are a band that applies only to the tastes of an inner circle of pop kids anymore. this is one of the most palateable records i've bought in a long time. my brain's been exhausted looking for music as fulfilling as what i was stumbling upon a couple years ago, and then here came wolfie, the coat and hat.i was riding my bike down the street and caught myself singing along out loud... god i must have sounded silly."
