This is not the Winterhawk from the Aragon days...

"My first exposure to Winterhawk is the brilliant There And Back Again, which is a live recording circa 1978 from Chicago's Aragon Ballroom. Wind From The Sun is not the band that recorded that fiery performance. Instead, this is a collection of studio work from guitarist Jordan Macarus over a decade later under the Winterhawk logo. To be honest, I am disappointed in this record. Because of the impact There And Back Again had on me, I was compelled to pick up both studio releases through Monster Records. Revival is pretty good, although it was recorded after the band essentially broke up. It does, however, contain most of the original members in the recordings. Wind From The Sun should really be called a Jordan Macarus solo record. It's not horrible, but it doesn't stand out compared to the band this guy came from. Think Eric Johnson tonalities mixed with wandering song structures and speaking range vocals and you pretty much get this record. If you want a definitive Winterhawk record, get There And Back Again. If that pleases you, get Revival. Only get this if you want to see what this guy has done in later years. Be warned, though, it is very different."
