This is a strong but flawed presentation of this wonderful m

"Blood Brothers is arguably my favorite show of all time. I've seen it in London and New York 15 times and directed it. Petula and the Cassidy brothers are among the best principals I've seen. The music is moving and wonderful, and they sing it with sincerity and passion. The difficulty is that it is not music intended for a symphony orchestra, and the London Symphony becomes a distraction. It just doesn't work. Also, the music, by and large, is taken far too slowly. Despite these flaws it is worth having this CD just to hear Petula sing these marvelous songs."

"a couple of years ago i was able to see this show in london and it was fantastic. since then i have been kicking myself for not buying the cast recording there. but i just found the CD, not quite as good but still good. the songs are all great, so it makes it hard to choose a favorite. i recomend this CD to anyone who has seen the play, or even those who haven't because it is a great story with even better music."
Sight unseen, a real pleaser.

"I've never seen Blood Brothers. In fact, I had never heard of it until I saw a biography of the Cassidys. I've been a fan of both David & Shaun for years. I've also enjoyed Petula's music. This CD is beautiful. The music is moving and lyrical. I love the Marilyn Monroe pieces and especially My Friend & I'm Not Saying A Word. I hope I get a chance to see a production of Blood Brothers, though I'm sorry it won't be with these three wonderful entertainer!"
Very powerful recording of a very moving musical.

"Willy Russell's musical is about a pair of twins, separated from birth, unknowingly became best friends, and eventually died upon knowing that they were brothers. I've seen the musical and was really awed by the believability of its storyline and the simplicity of its lyrics.I have noticed a difference though--the music of this recording is a little slow than the music during the show. Also, the studio cast deemed it better to leave off some adlibs that are very important to songs that show a great deal of emotions. No matter; this CD is still worth your money."
A marvelous showcase for Petula Clark

"A fantastic show gets a marvelous cast album with this disc, which features Petula and the Cassidy Brothers from the Broadway production. Clark is magnificent, and both Cassidys do suprisingly well. This is the best cast recording of the show that exists."
