"if you are like me, then anything with will oldham's name on it, or "bonnie prince billy," is essential. import, vinyl, whatever, i have to have it. this is one i wouldn't necessarily recommend to my non-obsessive friends, but it's a worthy listen once in a while. interesting renditions of these songs, a good companion to wai notes if you can track down a copy."
Subpar release

"As a very big Oldham fan and collector of BPB shows, this album was a very big letdown.
The sound quality although good isn't up to par with Summer in the Southeast or Is It the Sea?
Several of the songs here are gimmicks, like Naked Lion or Magnificent Billy that aren't particularly entertaining.
That said, Little Small Song, Three Questions, No Bad News and Weaker Soldier are different arrangements and quite good.
You'll be much better served by Summer in the Southeast, which is BPB perfection."
