Synopsis

Album Description
Digitally remastered reissue of this ambitious 1969 album. Cited as an influence by Aphex Twin and Chemical Brothers, White Noise's An Electric Storm was the work of American-born David Vorhaus, Delia Derbyshire (who had created the electronic version of the `Doctor Who' theme for the BBC) and Brian Hodgson. The album was surprising for the fact that two of the three members were not long-haired Rock musicians, but were respected pioneers of Electronic music who worked at the BBC's legendary Radiophonic Workshop. Universal.

As Fresh As the Day I First Heard It
Charles Cecil O'meara | guilford, CT United States | 01/19/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Interesting to see/read the comments - i bought this when it first came out and remember it vividly, listened to it for years. i recall the 'black mass' track and the 'visitations' as so scary i never listened to them after a second or third time, just the rest of the album. interesting to see others' reactions were the same - very disturbing tracks, really eerie, but not in a way that shocks you immediately. more like what happened to me - i listened a few times then said to myself 'i don't think i can hear those bits again'"
EXCELLENT

"Very entertaining freako rock from 1969 that sounds like an extremely warped off off off Broadway show.

Lots of little electronic ditties, fake orgasms, backwards tapes. This project wonders wherever it damn pleases at any point, but the main tread is surreal acid tinge.

This was not about to get on mono AM radio with the Fifth Dimension, but should be on your stereo wierdbox, today."
