Columbia Fields was formed in June of 2002 when Guitarist/Lead Vocalist Grayson Minney met up with Pianist/Keyboardist Eric Heath. The combination of acoustic folk guitar and classical piano complimented each other perfectly and created a local buzz throughout their neighboring hometowns. Drummer Chris Bowes, was introduced in September of 2005. Bowes, while influenced by the hardcore/ heavy metal genre, added a powerful edge to the music. Bassist Jon Coates completed the line up when he joined in September of 2006. On their album When the Night Falls..., the individual band members combine their diverse influences to create a unique and exciting sound.
