Great Recording

"A very good recording of Bernstein's greatest work. Te Kanawa's glorious lyric soprano voice fits perfectly, and her accent imitation and diction are both perfect. Carreras' obviously struggles with the diction, and his voice is not totally right for the part. However, he still sings his parts reasonably well, and does blend nicely with Kiri Te Kanawa. Tatiana Troyanos sounds pretty terrible. She slurs and slides her way around, and sounds generally half out of whack with the rest of the cast. The entire ensemble, however, do a great job and fit in well. All round, it's a good, value for your money CD."
