Wonderful album

"This cd was my very first introduction to Wes Montgomery. I had heard the name many times of course, but to my knowledge had never heard him play before. And I must say, that after listening to this album, I wish that I had heard him. He is truly a jazz guitar genius, and I will most certainly buy more of his work. There is a great blend of songs on this album...from "Impressions" by John Coltrane and "Round Midnight", a Monk tune, to lighter pop fare like "Matchmaker. Matchmaker" and "King of the Road". Each and every track is great, and I highly recommend this album to anyone who wishes to get acquainted with this guitar legend. The booklet includes an essay on Wes, by George Benson, who also selected the songs on this album."
