One of the Greats

"This little-known piano recording of all Bach's Well-tempered Clavier is a masterpiece. Phenomenal piano-playing from beginning to end. Book 2 of the Well-tempered, often thought "intellectual" and "more difficult" than Book 1, is rendered completely accessible. Preludes and Fugues that in the hands of lesser pianists seem dry and academic come completely alive. One of the very best recordings of the Well-tempered, if not THE best recording (on piano) that I have ever heard, and I've heard about 50 of them! Can't recommend it highly enough!"

"I have heard the Well Tempered Clavier (WTC) performed live and I have owned the Landowski version. Frankly I had failed to find it very interesting. A friend recommended this recording, and I am so happy I gave it a try. Feinberg finds rich music in every prelude and fuge. I find it positively exciting to listen to, and listen to it often. It is a dated sound, recorded in analog monaural, but I find the sound quality quite listenable."
