"Jamaican Gospel Music has taken a new twist for the New Millenium. Wayne Stoddart's Committed CD has set the pace for this radical change in gospel music. The message behind the music is biblical and powerful. It ministers and at the same time can have you dancing and singing. The album gives a dominant roots reggae feel but yet it touches a variety of musical styles a little SKA(Thank you for the Valley), a little Dance Hall (final Day), a little Hip-Hop (Spending time With God Feat. Chevel Franklin), traditional gospel (Pilot of my Life) and even a taste of Country and Western (Homesick). The album is an excellent Caribbean gospel production and I would definitely recommend the purchase of this CD"

"I also love this CD by Wayne Stoddart!! Commited is an absolute hit! I have close to 60 Christian Reggae CDs and lots of Secular Reggae Material, and Committed is one of my Favorites! The input from the other artists like Sly Dunbar was nice and added greatly to the project but I must say that Wayne's singing and sparks of DJ chanting are completly awesome! You must listen to this CD on a quality Sound System to really apprieciate the Wall shaking bass! When you listen to this CD around your friends they will feel that tight Roots vibe first and then the lyrics will speak and they will ask, "hey can I borrow this CD?" Then you must direct them to where they can get it because if you let it out of your hands, you will more than likely not get it BACK!!! This CD is heavy in Bass and the Vibe is so sweet and the lyrics will stun you with their Committment!!!! Wayne is a Committed man, suh mi seh NUFF RESPECT BREDREN!!!!!"

"It's regrettable that you're not able to listen to samples of any of the songs from Wayne Stoddart's "Committed" album here...
There you will find out more about this talented artist and get to hear some of the music from the album. As a Christian reggae
radio deejay, I've had the pleasure of playing a number of Wayne's tracks on the radio and the reaction has been very positive. This album is definitely of a solid reggae foundation with contemporary roots sounds with the title track, "Spirit Of The Lord", "Save Our Souls" and "Bountiful Love". There are also some incredible guest spots including the sweet, soulful voice of Delroy Lalor, featured on "He's Everything To Me" and the anthemic ballad "Pilot Of My Life". One listen to the track and your heart will be touched by the deeply reflective lyrics and melody. Wayne does some great diverse singing throughout, including on "Bountiful Love" where he weaves in the old hymn "The Love Of God" in a unique way, alternating with a sing-jay part and tight production. Stoddart shows his range in singing in everthing from gospel tones to roots "straight from yard". Paul Simon's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" gets a fresh reworking and serves as a tribute to suffering people around the world, including those most affected by the events of 9/11/01. The song starts out with a very warm, soulful vibe and then a gentle, but assured reggae beat kicks in- beautifully done! "Spirit Of The Lord" is another highlight, which serves as a battle cry in good over evil with the chorus, "the Spirit of the Lord is upon me/I'm lifted up above my enemies/The Spirit of the Lord is upon me/Whom shall I fear!" The confident female backing vocals lift Stoddart's voice to an even higher heights in this tune which can rival any roots reggae release out there today. There is a great guest spot by Cassandra McDonald whose sweet gospel vocals embrace the brisk ska rhythm of "Thank You For The Valley". The reknowned and multi-talented Chevelle Franklyn lends impressive vocals to the hip-hop inflected "Spending Time With God". The project also features contributions from such legendary names as drummer Sly Dunbar and saxaphonist Dean Fraser as well as highly regarded individuals like Dalton and Danny Brownie.
In summary, Wayne Stoddart's "Committed" is one of the freshest, most conscious, top-notch reggae releases to come out in 2001/2002. The power is in the lyrics which are equally testimonial/observational and right from the Holy Bible. It's no wonder that it is currently at #38 in the Reggae Vibes international charts.
