Another beauty from 4 plus 1

"This time with guest Skerik, this 4 plus 1 Ensemble CD is another quietly elegant set. Tucker Martine makes a strong contribution on this CD with his in-studio processing and his synths. Although the ensemble is acoustic at its heart, this set has a strong electroacoustic sound. This CD explores a definitely surreal, but still inviting soundscape. It's just the thing for a quiet afternoon!"

"my lordie, just what is in the water down at the horvitz ranch. wayne and his merry trio of musical maestro's have blessed us (with help from uncle john zorn) with the 2nd 4+1 ensemble cd. a one off mix of the sweetest, heartfelt relaxed melodies, soulfulness, avant soundscape reflections and down low funkiness that this listener has heard in ages. julian preister is a trambone master, sheets of liquid depth, and rest of the band beautifully capture the moment. along with wayne's spar bill frisell's blues dream on nonsuch, FROM A WINDOW catches top spot on my 2001 hitlist. treat yourself. 10 stars actually. can't wait for 2002 with the new robin holcomb and the second american bandstand cd for songlines."
