Product DescriptionMozart and Kozeluch were rumoured to have become friends at a coronation ceremony in Prague although a rivalry may have sparked when Mozart composed a piano concerto for one of Kozeluch's pupils. Nevertheless, the popularity of both composers is evident and 'On the way to Prague' presents two of their finest works. Kozeluch's Piano Concerto is typical of the Viennese Classical style. This 1970 recording presents Felicja Blumental with the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg under the direction of Leopold Hager. Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major is notoriously one of the most demanding every written, yet hailed as the "definitive" piano concerto from the Classical era. This recording dated 1968 presents Ms Blumental with the Prague New Chamber Orchestra conducted by Alberto Zedda.
