A Soulful Musical Extravaganza

"From the opening soulful exuberence of Dylan's hopeful "Death is Not the End" to the poignant and soothing lullaby "Saints and Angels", The Live Adventures of the Waterboys is an orgasmic experience replete with scorching guitar rifts, sizziling fiddle playing, a sonic saxophone and, of course, Mike Scott's spiritually penetrating lyrics. Live albums are too often poorly recorded attempts at capturing the enthusiam and soul of a band's heart, but not here; for this album is a well produced and sonically breathtaking affair that takes you on a journey through Mike Scott's world, where we witness his sometimes biting reprisals of world leaders who rule with a despotic hand (notice his dedication on "We Will Not Be Lovers"), as well as his heartrending displays of human compassion and his desire for human reconciliation on such songs as "The Thrill is Gone/And the Healing Has Begun", "The Pan Within", and "Spirit." The music races from traditional style Irish ("Meet Me at the Station") to furious rock and roll ("Savage Earth Heart"). An album that will truly take your heart to places outside this earthly realm and all its mundane experiences, and leave you gasping for breath at the end, The Live Adventures of the Waterboys is a pure joy to any and all who will offer it a listen. Thank you Mike Scott for an album that heals, especially in these dark times that we live in today."

"that it had been the case. That what?
that the best d*mn live band ever had recorded a live album sometime in the mid/late '80's when they were at that awesome full throttle force. Then, magically, it appeared, ten years or so later. A fitting musical coda to an out of control, always on the edge, and always insanely musical fairytale. The people behind these performances knew what we all knew, that there had to be a document other than the myriad of badly recorded bootlegs. ...
Here it is, in all its brilliant glory. If you never knew who they were, and never saw them, it won't be quite the same, but it's all here, you can just imagine it
Mike, Anto, Steve, etc .. thanks for those wonderful shows. Magnificent."
