"I happened upon Watashi Wa while at a show in Hollywood a few months back. I'd never heard of them and had no idea what to expect. When they took the stage, I was blown away. These kids were playing with passion. With heart and soul. *And there were only thirteen people in the audience.*It takes guts to get up infront of a crowd that small and play that well. It takes guts to sing songs about Christ without succumbing to the typical "hardcore" sound that many Christian scene bands perpetuate. It takes guts to be amazing in the face of indifference. And Watashi Wa certainly does all of this. This album, "Love of Life," surpasses anything you could possibly be thinking about it. Buy it. Embrace it. If you think the guitar is awesome on the record, just wait until you hear it live. Luke Page is unrivaled by anyone in this scene, and that is no joke. The kid *truly* knows how to play guitar. Not to mention the fact that the vocals are done by a guy who actually knows how to sing (choir, anyone?)Make sure to check out this album. Find out what loving life is all about."
Watashi Wa rocks!!!!!!

"I like Christian music and look for songs that edify, but let's face it--lots of Christian music is stogy and sounds like it was written by the committee of the middle of the road. Watashi Wa breaks free of all that with a energetic collection of great songs. In fact, it is unusual for a CD not to contain filler songs to complete the set. This CD doesn't have any filler. Every song is both unique and very good. You won't be disappointed."
I concur with the rest.

"My fellow reviewers have basically summed up the good atributes of this album, which is one my sister bought me for my birthday. There's nothing very "catchy" or over-the-top unique about this album, which is why I think it is good. It's classic, timeless, something you could listen to ten years from not and not flush with embarassment. It's also relaxing; makes good ambient noise when I'm in my room.
The cover art is amazing; I wish I could have it printed onto a bag or a skirt or something...ha."
6 stars would be more like it

"it's a great cd, like emo renditions of Beatles-like songs, for want of a better description. It's one of those cds that put you in a good mood from the first minute. They probably believe in what they say, the lyrics are quite uplifting, the melodies beautiful and their delivery is definitely convincing. The chords are simple but the nuances, the details make the songs unique. It's got so many potential singles that I just don't get tired of it a month after I bought it. Not many bands like this around. How do they make such powerful music without extensive usage of distortion? I wish I could listen to it when I'm surfing. Their previous cd, "What's In The Way", is a bit rawer but very much worth getting as well. Support this band, buy the cd, go to concerts, it's life-affirming music."
Awesome CD

"This is a very refreshing, upbeat CD, well worth having in your collection. It features outstanding lyrics and stay-in-your-head melodies, kind of like those early Beatles tunes. This is one of those rare CDs that doesn't quickly grow old. The more you listen to it, the more you like it. I think this is a band to watch!"
