CD ReviewsMust Have For The Diehard Warrant Fan !! 06/23/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Under The Influence" is the latest release by the Multi-Platinum rock band WARRANT and it features 2 BRAND NEW original songs as well as 9 classic rock covers. The cover songs featured are 1)Toys in The Attic-Aerosmith 2)Hollywood-Thin Lizzy 3)Dead,Jail or Rock N Roll-Michael Monroe 4)Hair Of The Dog-Nazareth 5)Tie Your Mother Down-Queen 6)Suffragette City-David Bowie 7)Surrender-Cheap Trick 8)Down Payment Blues-AC/DC 9)Come And Get It-Badfinger.....The 2 new songs are called "Subhuman" and "Face" and they are great original Warrant creations. Warrant has been performing the new song "Subhuman" on this years Glam Slam Jam opening up for POISON.This CD is for the Warrant diehard fans and was released to tide people over until the band releases a full album of new material late this year or early next year.Great sound, production, and graphics makes this CD a must have for the diehard Warrant fans...." THE DOWN BOYS HAVE A WINNER HERE! Antoinette Avalon | USA | 11/11/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "I was incredibly curious about this release. Jani Lane, Warrant's vocalist and prolific songwriter . . . doing cover tunes? But this album is wonderful! Jani does justice to every number, even David Bowie's "Suffragette City". If you are a fan of Warrant you won't be disappointed by this album and if you have NOT been a fan of Warrant this album just might be the one to change your mind. They once again show themselves to be a band that can tackle melodic hard rock with a vengeance. I hope this release is the beginning of more great things for this band. Pick up a copy of "Under the Influence". It's the best way to be "under the influence" I can think of . . . under the influence of quality rock 'n roll!" Warrant's first good album in nearly a decade thegreatjustino | Stockton, CA United States | 08/27/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "A lot of longtime Warrant fans will agree with me when I say that Ultraphobic and Belly to Belly were two horrible albums. After suffering through a few spins of each of those in the CD player, I was somewhat hesitant to give any subsequent albums of theirs a chance. However, knowing quite a few of the classic rock tunes on this album plus the fact that Jani Lane's cover of Photograph totally rocks, I gave the album a shot. I was glad to hear Warrant once again recording some rocking tunes that were worthy of being compared to their three awesome late eighties albums. Like a few of the other reviewers here, the last track "Face" is worth the price of the album alone. While not a typical 80's style rocker, it is a very cool new rock tune from a band who has had very little to praise during the last decade. If they could record a whole album full of tracks like "Face" and "Sub Human" I think they would win a lot of their fans back who deserted after Ultraphobic and Belly to Belly. The only reason I don't give this album five stars is because it is a cover album for the most part. Get some new material guys."
