"Warne Marsh is an unsung hero of jazz. Here he is matched with PC, Paul Motian, and Ronnie Ball. See if you can figure out which tune Philly Joe is playing skins on. This is a great place to start with Warne. A student of Tristano's his language is one of fluid lines and sweet tone. Enjoy PC as he never lets you down. If you love hard bop, then this is an album you will wear out. Great with Dinner, and a glass of wine. Yardbird is particularly of interest as it does not have the cliche' licks you will find other sax players playing. It's Alright With Me, is a tune that swings hard. All in all Great set, I post no licks here, because Marsh just weaves his way through the changes without effort. Enjoy!"
