Product DescriptionIn 2013, the world celebrated Wagner s 200th birthday. As godfather of the cross-genre work of art, he revolutionized the direction of
theatre and operas into a modern multimedia experience. If Wagner were around today, how would he use the technical possibilities of
modern studio technology and to what extent would he once again break away from conventions? In this new project, Wagner s
music is not retold but newly told, transporting his feeling for melody and dynamics into the modern age.
J. Peter Schwalm, the artistic initiator of this project, belongs to the most versatile exponents of contemporary electronic music. His
first experimental electro-jazz project begat a cooperation with Brian Eno, which has continued throughout the years. Schwalm wrote
film scores as well as ballet music and music for stage plays, and also joined Bono s project Artists Against AIDS Worldwide. He is closely
connected to Norwegian jazz guitarist Eivind Aarset, whose solo albums have been released on the Jazzland and ECM labels. Pianist
Christine Schütze completes the quartet; this graduate of the Hamburg and Lübeck music colleges also tours with a separate cabaret
program, which she has performed at the famous Düsseldorf Kom(m)ödchen.
