"This amazing studio recording was made in 1954. It says in the liner notes that it was Furtwangler's intention to record the whole Ring Cycle but that unfortunately died before any more of the Ring could be recorded. By 1954 Furtwangler already had 25 years experience conducting Die Walkure under his belt. By the way, the Sigmund is Ludwig Suthaus NOT Windgassen as listed above. Ludwig Suthaus is the same tenor as on Furtwangler's studio recording of Tristan with Kirsten Flagstad. The Sieglinde is a very young and and very incredible Leonie Rysanek and Martha Modl is Brunnhilda."
