The Best "Das Rheingold" Ever!

"These cd's should have a rating of 25 stars. It's very hard to find a digital recording of any of the operas in ing Cycle and if you did this is probably the best but the best performance of all time had to be by Hebert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic. Probably not as famous of an opera as "Die Walkure", but should be heard. Since it is the Bayreuther Festspiele where all the Wagner fans in the world come for the performances of "Der Ring des Nibelungen" and the other operas means that it is quaility. A plus is that it comes with the English, German, and French words of every scene of the opera and bios on all of the members of the cast, conductor, and the producer of the Festspiele Wolfgang Wagner."

"This was an overall good performance but it was still a live recording. This is usually a problem because of movement noise and props making sounds. This recording was no exception. As well, if you can stomach some horribly out of tune orchestral moments you should be fine."
