CD ReviewsSweet & Hot 20's Jazz at Its Very Best 10/11/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "The RSJO, along with the San Francisco Starlight Orchestra, are probably the best orchestras around in producing the Paul Whiteman/Gene Goldkette/Fred Waring sounds. In this particular CD, the RSJO leads us into both the sweet and the hot sounds of the era.Carla Normand, one of the most expressive 20's style female vocalists wraps her listeners around her little finger while hot cornets (including special guest solos by Bob Schultz) make this a "feel good" CD. The violin work of Jermey Cohen provide us with a bit of the "sweet" flavor of the era.I place this CD among my personal "top five." Two thumbs up!"
