Product DescriptionVoltage - Hitting The Ground-EP The style of Voltage is an eclectic mix of electro-(pop) and rock, combined with the distinctive vocals of Marc Driessen. The sound has been described as modern version of the Stranglers, with hints of The Jesus and Mary Chain, New Order and The Velvet Underground. Backing vocals are courtesy of Julia P. a respected singer songwriter from the lowlands and additional guitar are provided by Paul Willemsen of Dutch pop outfit ?Amigos Electricos?. online review : A very, very interesting CD this one; as it?s utterly unlike any Dutch release I?ve heard. It is in no way the formulaic pop one associates with the Dutch music scene at present. The track ?Hitting the Ground? kicks off into a sub-glitter stomp with muted vocals very reminiscent of Pere Ubu?s classic Final Solution single. ?I don? wanna? is an opening phrase that crops up with heartening regularity this song; it?s gloriously surly, very much into Iggy and all things Stoogy. The Way could be off a late Mary Chain release; it growls along in a monolithic way, giving out surly glances as it strolls down the street. Absurdly simple and basic in its creation, it is absolutely fucking brilliant. A classic. Get this. words : Richard Foster Incendairymag
