"I have waited ten years for this recording to become available again. It was worth the wait. Mullova attacks this piece and Abbado is right in sync. I own five different recordings of the "4 Seasons" but this Mullova/Abbado recording is my favorite.
You'll love this performance if you liked Mullova's Shoshtakovich or Abbado's Beethoven 3rd recordings."

"Recently, I have been in search of the perfect recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. I went to every book store and music store I know, checked the iTunes Music Store and Amazon.com, and listened to as many samples as I could get my hands on. And I found that although Anne-Sophie Mutter's and Itzhak Perlman's recordings were both high quality, they did not feel satisfying, there was something lacking. And then, as soon as I accidently stumbled upon Viktoria Mullova's recording and found samples at iTunes Music store, I instantly fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I could not find the CD at any store, nor is it at Amazon.com or BN.com, so I settled with buying it on iTunes Music Store. I listened to it immediately and was blown away; this recording appears to be perfect on all levels! From Mullova's passionate playing all the way down to how even the harpsichord sounds, it is all perfect. The only problem, however, is that this CD seems to have become a rarity, and you will most likely have to buy it digitally like I did."
4 Seasons

"4 Seasons~ Vivaldi is an amazing work that one could easily classify without a doubt as one of the finest and accomplished compositions of all time. Viktoria Mullova is a rare talent and she plays with a fervor and passion that is rarely heard and she ranks right up their with Hillary Hahn. Being a very devout person, I can not help to think that God spent a few extra seconds on such genius. The book-let whilst a bit sparse and spartan serves its purpose and the photograph on the front is very nice indeed. The liner notes are well written and present an interesting and thought worthy essay regarding this work in question. Highly recommended indeed and I give it 5 out of 5 stars."
Superb Four Seasons

"I own at least five recordings of the Four Seasons...Nigel Kennedy, Itzhak Perlman, Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg and Lara St. John. My most recent version is this recording by Viktoria Mullova. I might as well throw the rest in the trash because I doubt if I will listen to any of them again. Mullova's version is amazing. In the past couple months I have purchased just about every CD she has recorded. Although not all the recordings are technically great, Mullova's playing is remarkable...possibly the best violinist on the planet."
