"What a wonderful surprise the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's Masterworks Audiophile Collection of budget priced cds has been for me. Take this recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons as a prime example-the performance by violinist & leader Jonathan Carney and the RPO is pleasingly vivid & spirited, with a recorded sound that is exceptional in a series that is so attractively priced. In years past, budget lines of classical music often entailed enduring dubious sound quality & uninspired performances by little known regional orchestras that were simply not up to par with ensembles of the Royal Philharmonic's pedigree. Those days are most assuredly a thing of the past with labels like the Royal Philharmonic Masterworks now available. Pick up this marvelous Vivaldi disc by Jonathan Carney & the RPO & hear for yourself!
Attractively coupled with Pachelbel's Canon in D-major & JS Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #3, this compact disc is an inexpensive treasure that will be a grand addition to your classical music collection!"
