(5 out of 5 stars)

"Don't let the sound samples fool you....this enseble excels in the concerto for strings in c minor and g minor, the sinfonia 'al santo sepolcro' and the d minor concerto from opus 3. The playing in the g minor and c minor is intoxicatingly beautiful and for me even transcends worldliness....by far the best Vivaldi interpreters out there, much better than the well known giants in Baroque music....they don't play on period instruments but they use baroque bows so the sound is completely identical the period instruments and sounds absolutely nothing like modern instruments. It was dissapointing the other works were put on the cd because they are too well known and to my opinion come nowhere near the works that i said this ensemble excels in. I previously had a recording of everything except only one of the concertos - the c minor...and i certainly don't regret buying the album at all...and if you are fond of those other concertos, the interpretation here is also among the best available. Everyone who likes Vivaldi MUST buy this cd, and even if you don't like Vivaldi much, it will probably completely transform your attitude towards his music. If your'e not convinced, go to a cd store and listen to it or else your missing out on a brilliant recording. I wasn't convinced until I did."
