Those acquainted with Vittor Santos' previous precious works were longing for a new album for many years. This delay was only partially mitigated by Vittor's many and remarkable participations as trombonist and/or arranger in numerous records over the last few years. "Renewed Impressions" placates this expectation through eight themes related to his previous records. Santos is working again in a quintet setting. This group of musicians is greatly responsible for the instrumental richness superbly translated in the arrangements. Besides being an instrumentalist with consummate technical skills as well as a fluent and creative soloist, Victor is also an arranger who knows how to get the most of each instrument and to enhance their interaction.
