Airiel Down is an energetic, ambient rock band hailing from Raleigh, NC. Powerful guitars, driving rhythms, memorable melodies and insightful lyrics set this band apart. These guys put a lot of thought and emotion into their music, and it really pays off - both in their recordings and live performance (Doug Grissom, City of Raleigh Special Events Director).

Airiel Down recently finished recording their debut album, VISION, with engineer/producer John Plymale at the studios of Overdub Lane in Durham, NC. John Plymale has previously worked with artists including the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Meat Puppets, and Superchunk. The album was mastered by engineer Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in New York, NY. Greg Calbis credits include an array of major artist names including The Ramones, Sonic Youth, Lenny Kravitz, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and David Bowie. Since the completion of VISION in May of 2006, the band has been on the road touring in support of the album. The band members are also filming a documentary on the struggles of an independent band working relentlessly to succeed in the music industry.

Beaux Foy, Airiel Downs lead singer and rhythm guitarist, is the mastermind of Airiel Down, forming the band in 2003. After playing with several musicians, Beaux eventually found the right mix of personalities and musicianship with bassist Curt Turner, drummer Taylor Traversari, and guitarist Gordon Harris. In 2005 Airiel Down signed a record contract with Autumn Rain Records, Inc., the music label founded by band member Beaux Foy.

Each band members unique style and range of influences are responsible for creating Airiel Downs new and innovative sound. While ambient rock serves as the bands stylistic foundation, as a consequence of the diverse talent within the band, Airiel Down is capable of producing music ranging in style from hard rock to ambient acoustic.
