Product DescriptionFor their first production together, young Salzburg violinist Thomas Albertus Irnberger and legendary Viennese pianist Paul Badura-Skoda present three of Mozart's sonatas for piano and violin, all of which were composed during Mozart's period in Vienna. They interpret them on instruments that Mozart himself preferred: Irnberger plays a violin by Jakob Stainer, while Badura-Skoda plays one of the few preserved original Anton Walter fortepianos. The Sonata in A Major played here, the peak among his sonatas for piano and violin, was presumably composed as a thank-you to Count Lobkowitz for his gift of a Stainer violin.
