"Aharonian is an extremely underrated violinist. He can project a beautiful tone, and plays strong, with plenty of Rubato, along with technial skill and virtuosity. This recording is no exception. His vibrato is perfect for this piece, and he uses it well in the first and second movements. Also, in the finale, Ruben plays at a perfect tempo, and makes it a very lively movement. The other pices, The Serenade Melancolique, Souvenir d'un lieu Cher, and Scherzo also add a lot to this CD. I would recommend it to all Tchaikovsy fans. Although not as prolific as, maybe, the Oistrakh recordings, It certainly is a pleasure to listen to."
Great Concerto - great interpretation.

"I recently bought this because I had not yet heard the Violin Conceto Op. 35 in D major, Souvenir d'un lieu cher Op. 42, Serenade melancholique Op. 26, and Valse - Scherzo Op. 34. I was lucky to get so many of the pieces I was missing in my collection of Tchaikovsky, in one CD. I was absolutely delighted with all the pieces. Op. 35 is so extremely romantic. It makes me want to go out and get a violin. I cannot criticize the technical ablility of Rouben Aharonian, but I can say that I couldn't be more pleased with his interpretation!"
