CD ReviewsA spectacular performance by Wallfisch! Jeremy Feldblyum | Maryland, USA | 04/20/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Raphael Wallfisch captures the essence of Khachaturian's cello concerto perfectly! I have never heard a better performance of the piece. His playful, lyrical tones beautifully fit the spirit of the Russian composer's music. I bought this album solely to hear Wallfisch, and was not at all disappointed!Although I usually do not like Lydia Mordkovich's performance, I think she does an uncharacteristally good job on the violin concerto as well. I usually find her playing too strident, but in the spirit of the piece she makes a remarkably fine performance.Overall, I am very, very satisfied with this CD."
