Bad boy Vince Neil revives old Motley Crue selections and solo tunes on this 60-minute outing, recorded at his hometown haunt, the Sunset Strip's infamous Whisky. Neil's vocals are prominently featured throughout and, while his strained screaming was never the best thing about his old band, he fares surprisingly well, trying new phrasings on Kick Start My Heart and the lesser-known Knock 'Em Dead Kid. While uber-guitarist/former solo bandmate Steve Stevens is missed, Neil's current lineup fares well on the likes of Girls, Girls, Girls, Dr. Feelgood, and the scorching closer Live Wire. Motley Crue may represent metal's old guard, but Neil's fresh performance proves the group's veteran frontman still has plenty of energy left. --Katherine Turman
