"As a fan of smooth jazz since the first days of Frank Cody's satellite "Wave" network, I've enjoyed the interesting uses of various instruments beyond the usual sax, trumpet, guitar and piano. The jazz violins of Jean-Luc Ponty and Doug Cameron, the steel drums of Andy Narell, and the koto of the long vanished Yutaka were delightful additions to the genre. Add to that now Dirk Richter's superb vibes work in his group Vibes Alive CD "after Hours". Guitarist partner Randall Crissman acts as a great counterpoint to Richter's work, and others, including the extraordinary Jeff Lorber, make this a necessary addition to one's smooth jazz library. I heard the cut "Lighthouse" on XM satellite's "Watercolors" channel and knew I had to have this one. This disc is more than well worth it."
